Prerequisites: CHEM 100 and PHYS 100
Formation and evolution of the Earth, including its atmospheres, oceans and internal structure, placed in the context of our solar system. A comparative planetology course focusing on Earth and providing students with an understanding of where Earth fits into our solar system by introducing other solar system objects: planets, asteroids, comets, and moons alike. Fulfills the Earth and Space Science requirement for liberal studies. Four hours lecture and three hours laboratory. Materials fee required. May not count for credit towards the major or minor in Physics. Formerly PHYS 311.
